The first season of the Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) 2021 is coming to an end soon, with the top teams in each region claiming a spot at the Dota 2 Singapore Major, the first Dota 2 esports Major since the whole COVID-19 pandemic started. Europe is arguably the biggest region, with the most top-tier teams competing, and there’s an exciting three-way tiebreaker coming our way.
DPC 2021 Europe: The three-way tiebreaker
The final matches of the first DPC season in 2021 for the European division will take place this Sunday, 28 February 2021. There’s a whole lot at stake for the three teams involved, who are all currently tied for fourth place.
The fourth-place finish gets the final slot at the Wild Card tournament for a shot at the Major, while the others will just remain in the Upper Division for the next season. Brace yourself, OG fans, as the two-time TI-winning organization is one of these three teams.
The three-way tiebreaker includes:
- OG
- Team Liquid
- Tundra Esports
On Sunday, 28 February 2021, these three teams will face off to determine the team that gets a shot in the Wild Card tournament. The matches kick off at 13:00 SAST. At the time of writing, there’s no exact schedule for the following matches in this tiebreaker, nor which teams will be playing first. You can, however, tune in at 13:00 SAST via the DreamLeague Twitch.tv channel to catch all the action.
For those who haven’t been following the DPC Europe Upper Division, Team Secret claimed a first-place finish and a spot in the Dota 2 Singapore Major playoffs. In second place with a spot in the Major’s group stage is Alliance, while Team Nigma claimed the first of two Wild Card tournament slots.
