Quotes

SAFA President, Dr Danny Jordaan said all SAFA’s national teams represent South Africa, and should show the utmost passion and professionalism.

“We are hoping to create new heroes and heroines when players don the national colours to represent the country in eSports. They must feel the same pride as members of our other national teams. We are excited to be part of this global progression driven by FIFA which is expanding into the digital realm to grow the game and its support among younger, tech-savvy fans.”

Competition director and Business Development Manager for NAG, Len Nery:

“We are honoured to play a part in connecting the dots between sport and esports with the second iteration of SAFA’s eFootball National Championships and eNations Qualifiers. This year there is an added incentive to compete as the top four SA players will form the official South African eFootball Team, #eBafanaBanyana. This generation of gamers will earn the right to represent South Africa on the global stage and we wish all competitors the best as they prepare for this amazing journey!”
