The Orlando Pirates Esports E-League has been announced for FIFA 18. The tournament series kicks off mid-July and features R40,000 in cash. The tournament is designed to give players a variety of qualifying opportunities, as well as a shot at the players of Esports Pirates.

Qualifying Process

The tournament starts with online qualifiers on 14 and 15 July. Eight players from these qualifiers will secure spots in the Grand Finals on 22 July.


The weekend of 21 and 22 July sees the action move to Adidas TheBase in Paulshof, Johannesburg for the live event weekend.


On Saturday 21 July, there is a Last Chance Qualifier which will be a 128-player live event. Eight players will qualify for the Grand Finals the following day, with an additional six players joining the final day via wildcard spots. The final 32 players for the Grand Finals will be the ten contracted Esports Pirates players.

  • 10x Orlando Pirates Esports players
  • 8x Online Qualifiers
  • 8x Last Chance Qualifiers
  • 6x Wildcard entries (chosen by Orlando Pirates FC)

Prize Breakdown

The R40,000 cash prize pool is split as follows:

  • 1st Place: R25,000 + LG G6 Smartphone
  • 2nd Place: R10,000
  • 3rd Place : R5,000
