This past weekend saw two major esports events happening in South Africa. The Ekasi Techfest and Rush Esports ensured local competitors and spectators had a host of action to enjoy. But who won what at Rush Esports where over R450,000 in prizes were up for grabs? Keep reading…

WESG Qualifiers
  • CS:GO: Energy Esports won the qualifier beating Goliath Gaming 2-0 in the final. Energy secured R10,000 and a spot at the WESG Grand Final in China. [Bracket]
  • Dota 2: Energy Esports beat Sinister5 in the final to win R10,000 and a spot in the African playoffs. A spot in China is up for grabs. [Bracket]
  • Hearthstone: Sythe won the final against Tranquilfern224 to bag R7,000 cash and a Samsung TV. [Bracket]
  • Starcraft II: Drager_SC2 won 4-0 in the final against Skiblet. He walked away with R6,000 cash and a place in China. [Bracket]
FIFA 19

Final standing:

  • 1st Place: Unbilledtiara74 [R20,000 cash prize and Samsung products]
  • 2nd Place: YvngSavage [R10,000 cash prize and Samsung products]
  • 3rd Place: Ntsax [R8,000 cash prize and Samsung products]
  • 4th place: Irry [R6,000 cash prize and Samsung products]
Fortnite

According to the leaderboard listing INCEPTION_BOBBY took first place, with RxPRath placing second. Cash and Samsung products were awarded.

Tekken 7

The Tekken 7 tournament was operated by UGC and saw over 60 players competing for the cash on the line. The tournament was also a Tekken World Tour Dojo event.
