ESL One Los Angeles Regional Online League – The four winners so far

Since ESL One Los Angeles moved entirely online due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the regional leagues have been something great for Dota 2 fans to watch. Four leagues have already finished up, with the European/CIS league the only one still running. In case you missed out on the finals taking place this weekend, here are the winners per region so far.

North America

There was little doubt that Evil Geniuses would win the North American Regional Online league for ESL One Los Angeles. While EG dropped a few games during the group stage, the team came back strong in the playoffs, beating down CR4ZY 2-1 and proceeding to the finals, where they defeated Quincy Crew 3-1 to become the NA Online League champions.

South America

Just like with the NA league, the SA league only had four teams competing. Beastcoast put up a fantastic showing of their skill, but just like EG, dropped a few games in the group stage before showing what they are made of in the playoffs.

Beastcoast managed to beat Furia Esports 2-1 in the first round, and in the grand finals, took their revenge on No-ping Esports to claim the title with a 3-1 victory.

China

The Chinese ESL One Los Angeles Regional League was one of the most exciting to watch so far. It featured six of the top teams in the region and PSG.LGD surprisingly didn’t even make it out of the group stages. Royal Never Give Up crushed it in the group stage, not dropping a single match.

When it came time for the playoffs, Royal Never Give Up continued their dominance, beating EHOME 2-1 and progressing to the finals, where they made quick work of Newbee, claiming the tournament win with a 3-1 score.

Southeast Asia

Four teams competed in the SEA ESL Los Angeles Regional League, just like with the NA and SA regions. Fnatic proved once again that they are the top team in the region, but they didn’t have the best of showings during the group stages, narrowly making it to the playoffs.

In the playoffs, Fnatic turned up the heat by beating BOOM Esports 2-1. Fnatic then faced Team Adroit in what was the most one-sided of the regional leagues so far. Fnatic took a clean 3-0 victory.

More Dota 2 action

The ESL One Los Angeles Regional Online League has one last region to go, and it is a big one. The European/CIS region features 16 teams in total, making it by far the biggest of the regional leagues.

You can catch all the action taking place from now until 17 April on the ESL website multistream as well as the official Twitch.tv ESL Dota 2 channel. With the likes of OG, Team Nigma, Team Secret and more competing for their share of the $200,000 prize pool, the ESL One Los Angeles Regional Online League for Europe/CIS is a tournament not to be missed.
