Dota 2 guild invites – How to disable
Last week, after the release of The International 10’s Battle Pass release, we reported how the guild feature is causing issues. Players, as well as popular streamers, have been getting crude, troll invites with inappropriate images. There is, however, a way to disable those unwanted guild invites from popping up.
How to disable Dota 2 guild invites
If you are sick of all the spam, including NSFW (or anywhere really) images, as well as inappropriate guild names, then we have you covered.
You can follow the steps below to disable Dota 2 guild invites. First, you need to enable the console in Dota 2, if you don’t have it running already.
- Open the Steam client
- Navigate to Library tab
- Right-click Dota 2
- Select Properties
- Navigate to General tab
- Click Set Launch Options…
- Enter -console in the text field
- Run Dota 2
- Hit the console hotkey (Default is \)
Now that you have the console enabled, you can use a command to stop invites from popping up. Disable Dota 2 guild invites by doing the following.
- Run Dota 2
- Open your console
- Type in:Â dota_guild_ignore_invites 1
You can revert back to how things are right now by using the console command “dota_guild_ignore_invites 0“.
Using this command means you should be safe from those nasty images and guild names. It is, however, great to be in a legitimate guild, as you can win rewards with your guild in Dota 2 right now.
Therefore, we suggest you first find yourself a guild before disabling the feature.
