Extra Salt DreamHack Open March NA qualification

Extra Salt had to make their way through the closed qualifiers for a spot at DreamHack Open March 2021 NA. This tournament features a prize pool of $70,000, as well as some ESL Pro Tour points. At the current Dollar to Rand exchange rate, that’s just over R1 million.

Extra Salt looked very strong with their new teammate Edgar “MarKE” Maldonado during the closed qualifiers. The squad convincingly punched through Oceanus Gaming with a 16-0 scoreline on Train, followed by a 16-9 on Overpass. They then beat down Recon 5 with a clean 2-0 to make it into the finals.

During the finals of the DreamHack Open March 2021 North America closed qualifier, Extra Salt beat RGB Esports 16-12 on Inferno, followed by 16-6 on Train to qualify for the main event. As you can probably see from the map scores, Extra Salt didn’t drop one single map, and crushed their opponents on Train without mercy.

Extra Salt, as well as seven other teams, will participate in DreamHack Open March 2021 North America. The biggest team in the tournament is undoubtedly Team Liquid.

The tournament runs from 10 to 14 March, and it will be exciting to see how Extra Salt stacks up against the tough competition. Maybe they can improve on their 3rd place finish at DreamHack Open January 2021 North America.
