ESEA Season 40 Main Division South Africa results
Since late January 2022, the top 10 local CS:GO esports teams have been competing in the ESEA Season 40 Main Division South Africa, for their share of the $5,500 prize pool. At the current Dollar to Rand exchange rate, that’s over R80,000. Now, we have the final results and standings of ESEA Season 40 Main Division South Africa to share.

Six teams made it out of the gruelling group stage, with White Rabbit Gaming ending in first place, Bravado Gaming in second place, and Goliath Gaming in third place. The six teams then entered the playoffs stage according to their group placement.
The double-elimination playoffs bracket for ESEA Season 40 Main Division South Africa didn’t disappoint. In the playoffs, we saw Goliath Gaming’s squad well and truly wake up. Their first win was due to a forfeit from ATK Academy but they then proceeded to beat Bravado Gaming 2-1 and swept VYBN with a convincing 2-0 win to make it to the grand finals.
Despite getting 2-0’ed by Goliath Gaming, VYBN bounced back against DNMK. While DNMK took the first map, Mirage, with a 16-10 scoreline, VYBN managed to win 16-9 on both Nuke and Inferno to claim their spot in the grand finals.
In the grand finals of ESEA Season 40 Main Division South Africa, Goliath Gaming had a one-map advantage as the Upper Bracket team. Goliath Gaming went on to win Inferno 16-14, while VYBN came back on Overpass with a 16-12 win. Then, Goliath Gaming finished things off by winning Mirage 16-7, thereby securing their title as ESEA Season 40 Main Division South Africa champions.
Final results and standings:
- 1st place – Goliath Gaming wins $2,000.
- 2nd place – VYBN wins $1,400.
- 3rd place – DNMK wins $900.
- 4th place – White Rabbit Gaming wins $400.
- 5th & 6th place – Bravado Gaming and ATK Academy win $250 each.
- 7th place – Gamers Anonymous Clan wins $150.
- 8th place – Royalty Esports wins $150.
- 9th place – Rage Quit wins nothing.
- 10th place – vanilla wins nothing.
The first six placements get to keep their spot in the ESEA Season 41 Main Division South Africa, while 7th to 9th place need to fight in a relegation battle. Unfortunately for team “vanilla”, they have been relegated to the Intermediate division for Season 41.
A big congratulations go out to Goliath Gaming for winning ESEA Season 40 Main Division South Africa in such a dominating fashion during the playoffs.
