rAge Valorant Cup announced

rAge and South African tournament Mettlestate, in collaboration with HP, have announced the rAge Valorant cup for local gamers to enjoy. Since rAge expo is going digital this year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the rAge Valorant cup will also be an online affair. Here’s what you need to know.

rAge Valorant Cup details

While the rAge expo Digital Edition event will take place online from 6th to 8th November, you won’t have to wait that long for the rAge Valorant Cup to begin. The tournament takes place from 15 October to 1st November 2020.

Registration for the rAge Valorant Cup is now open, and closes on 14 October at 19:00 SAST. The next day, the group stage for the tournament will kick off, on 15 October, and will run until 26 October. Then, from 31 October to 1 November, the playoffs stage of the tournament will take place.

Registration is free, so grab your team and throw your hats into the ring by heading to the tournament’s dedicated Mettlestate page. There’s a prize pool of R20,000 up for grabs, so don’t miss out.

Prize pool distribution:
  • 1st  place – R9,000
  • 2nd place – R6,000
  • 3rd place – R3,000
  • 4th place – R2,000

The tournament format for the group stage will see teams competing in a round-robin bracket, where all matches will be best-of-three. The top eight teams at the end of the group stage will be placed into the playoffs bracket.

The playoffs will feature a double-elimination bracket, with best-of-one matches being played up until the finals, which will be a best-of-three affair.
