SumaiL and Saksa part ways with OG

The two-time TI-winning organization, OG, couldn’t break Dota 2 esports records again at The International 10. Despite a fantastic showing, OG fell against the champions, Team Spirit, ending their run in 7th/8th place. The roster hasn’t been completely stable before TI10, and changes were expected by many fans.

Now, it has been announced that both Sumail “SumaiL” Hassan and Martin “Saksa” Sazdov has parted ways with OG.

Saksa & SumaiL leave OG

In a relatively short announcement, the organization revealed that during a meeting about the future of OG’s Dota 2 squad, both SumaiL and Saksa “expressed their desires to pursue opportunities outside of OG for the upcoming season” and OG granted their wishes.

JMR Luna, CEO of OG esports, states: “Both of them are incredible players and even better teammates. I am sure they will have a transformative effect in any organization they chose to join and they will continue to prove their world-class talent. Martin, Sumail, you will be missed. Thank you for sharing this adventure with us and thank you for always being warm and kind to us all.”

The current, incomplete roster OG roster is:

  • Topias “Topson” Taavitsainen
  • Sébastien “Ceb” Debs
  • Johan “N0tail” Sundstein

It honestly does not come as much surprise, as the post-TI shuffle is always filled with players leaving organizations, and rosters rebuilding ahead of the next DPC season.

For the OG fans out there, don’t fear. The organization mentioned that more information on the next iteration of their team will be “coming shortly”, and we can’t help but wonder who will join the squad for the next DPC season.
