IEM Beijing-Haidian Europe delivers spectacular finals – Catch the highlights
The Intel Extreme Masters (IEM) Beijing-Haidian Europe CS:GO tournament finished up this past weekend. It delivered one of the biggest comebacks in recent memory. Two of the top CS:GO teams in the world fought for the lion’s share of the $150,000 (roughly R2.3 million) prize pool. Here’s how it went down.
IEM Beijing-Haidian Europe: Grand Finals
The IEM Beijing-Haidian Europe tournament was an absolute joy to watch. It showcased the skills of the best CS:GO players and teams in the world. We also saw some great casting and production value, making the tournament a resounding success.
Na’Vi faced off against Vitality in the grand finals, and it appeared as if Na’Vi was trying to speedrun the finals. They quickly defeated Vitality on 16-5 on Nuke, followed by a 16-12 win on Dust 2. With their backs against the wall, Vitality fought back with a 16-6 win on Overpass.
Then, despite Na’Vi’s best efforts, Vitality took them down 16-9 on Inferno, evening up the grand final map score. In the fifth and final map, Vitality came out swinging to win Mirage 16-8, crushing the hopes of Na’Vi fans with an incredible reverse sweep.
For their efforts, Vitality wins the first-place prize of $60,000 (roughly R920,000) and a spot at the IEM Global Challenge taking place this December.
