EGL One CS:GO finals taking place this weekend
Back in September, South African retailer Evetech announced a new tournament organizer, EveSports, as well as a huge new CS:GO tournament for local teams to enter. EveSports is a division of Evetech and T3, and its first tournament, EGL One, is coming to a close this weekend.
EGL One CS:GO finals weekend details
The EGL One CSGO 2020 tournament is brought to you by EveSports and Intel, and features a prize pool of R50,000. At the start, 52 South African teams competed, and it is now whittled down to the final three.
During the playoffs bracket, the tournament favourites, ATK Arena, crushed their way through the upper bracket of EGL One, taking out both Energy Esports and Goliath Gaming 2-0 to make it to the finals. This weekend, we will see Goliath Gaming take on DNMK Esports in the lower bracket final. The winner will, of course, play ATK Arena in the BO5 grand finals.
It is sure to be an exciting watch for local CS:GO esports fans, with some of the top teams in the country competing for their share of the R50,000 prize pool.
The prize pool distribution is:
- 1st place – R25,000
- 2nd place – R12,500
- 3rd place – R6,500
- 4th place – R4,000
- 5th place – R2,000
The EGL One schedule:
