BLAST Premier Spring 2021 Showdown viewer’s guide
This week, CS:GO esports fans can enjoy the BLAST Premier Spring 2021 Showdown tournament. This international tournament is sure to be a banger, with 16 teams competing, including the likes of Astralis, Vitality and much more. Here’s everything you need to know about the tournament, including the schedule, how to watch, the teams involved and what they will be fighting for.
BLAST Premier Spring 2021 Showdown details
A total of 16 teams will compete in the BLAST Premier Spring 2021 Showdown. Among these teams is Extra Salt, with two South African players and a coach. This is one of the tournaments Extra Salt travelled to Europe for. They qualified for the tournament by winning the FENN International event late in March.
The LAST Premier Spring 2021 Showdown features a single-elimination bracket format. The 16 teams will be divided into two single-elimination brackets, with the winner of each moving onto the Spring Finals. All matches will be best-of-three.
There’s a $162,500 prize pool on the line. At the current Dollar to Rand exchange rate, that’s roughly R2.4 million. Check out the prize pool distribution below.
- 1st & 2nd place – $30,000 + Spring Finals spot
- 3rd & 4th place – $16,250
- 5th to 8th place – $10,000
- 9th to 16th place – $3,750
The tournament will run from 13 to 18 April 2021. Since this is an EU-based tournament, the times are great for South African and African viewers. Each day starts at roughly 12:00 SAST, and should run until 20:00 depending on how long the matches take to complete.

We are excited to see how Extra Salt does against top international competition. Regardless of how they do, however, the BLAST Premier Spring 2021 Showdown should be a great tournament for CS:GO fans to watch this week.
