ATK Arena 1v1 CS:GO Tournament and ESL viewing party announced

As most of our local CS:GO esports fans should know by now, ATK Arena and Goliath Gaming are competing in the ESL Rio Closed Qualifier in Dubai this week. While watching South African esports teams compete from the comfort of your own home is great, nothing really beats joining a viewing party and screaming at the screen together. That’s where the ATK Arena 1v1 CS:GO tournament and ESL viewing party come into play.

ATK Arena 1v1 CS:GO tournament

The ATK Arena 1v1 CS:GO tournament will take place at, you guessed it, ATK Arena (91 Main Road, Claremont, Cape Town). There’s R3,000 in prize money up for grabs and a signed shirt in this double-elimination tournament. Tickets can be picked up on Quicket for R50 each. The 1v1 CS:GO tournament takes place on Saturday, 7 March 2020 from 14:00 to 18:00 SAST.

Structure of the tournament is as follows:

  • Double elimination structure: Group stages Bo1 (aim_map only)
  • Semifinal and final matches will be a Bo3
  • aim_map – Map 1
  • aim_redline – Map 2
  • awp_india – Map 3

The prize pool breakdown is as follows:

  • 1st: R1500
  • 2nd: R750
  • 3rd: R500
  • 4th: R250

If the ATK Arena CS:GO squad qualifies for ESL Rio 2020, then the prize pool will be doubled, so it will probably be hard not to shout for ATK Arena’s team if you decide to compete in the 1v1 CS:GO tournament.  Further, all ticket holders older than 18 years will get a beer for free – Valid South African ID required.

This will be the second time that the new ATK CSGO team makes an appearance on the international circuit. As mentioned, there’s nothing better than watching esports with other fans so it is definitely an event not to be missed if you happen to be in Cape Town.

We wish both ATK Arena and Goliath Gaming the best of luck in Dubai.
