COD Predator Flashback Series announced with R10,000 prize pool

A lot is going on at South African tournament organizer African Cyber Gaming League (ACGL) with the likes of Mythic Royale for Apex Legends, Mini-Mythic Royale for Fortnite, and much more. However, ACGL still has time for even more awesome esports tournaments and has recently announced the Predator Flashback Series for Call of Duty fans. Here’s what you need to know.

Predator Flashback Series details

First up, the Predator Flashback Series from ACGL, in partnership with Predator Gaming, is entirely free to enter. It features two older Call of Duty titles: Cold War and Modern Warfare (2019). There is a prize pool of R5,000 to compete for in each series, making it R10,000 in total.

You can already sign up for the Black Ops Cold War series by heading to the tournament’s dedicated page on ACGL. Registrations for Modern Warfare will follow.

ACGL explains what the Predator Flashback Series format will look like: “For the series we will be using the Swiss-system for the qualifying phase. Each team competing will have five matches to secure their spot in the finals. The teams competing will need to complete one match on Friday (19h00), two matches on Saturday (14h00 and 16h00) and their last two matches on Sunday (14h00 and 16h00).”

Black Ops Cold War schedule:
  • 2 – 4 September 2022: Swiss Phase Matches
  • 11 September 2022: Finals | Top Four
Modern Warfare (2019) schedule:
  • 7 – 9 October 2022: Swiss Phase Matches
  • 16 October 2022: Finals | Top Four

The Black Ops Cold War series is only for teams who use controllers. However, the Modern Warfare series will be open to all input methods.

Check out the prize pool distribution per series below:
