COD: Mobile Season 6 balance changes, new gun and scorestreak
If you are a Call of Duty: Mobile competitive player, or simply a fan of the game in general, then you probably know that Season 6, entitled “The Heat” is coming your way at midnight on Thursday, 29 July 2021. With each season, there’s a tonne of new content, from maps to a shiny new Battle Pass, and this season we even get an Undead Siege mode.
The most important aspect for competitive COD: Mobile players, however, is the balance changes, as well as the new gun and scorestreak they will be able to compete with.
Warning: The update is roughly 3.2 GB in size, so remember to connect to Wi-Fi when updating, or risk using a lot of mobile data.
COD: Mobile Season 6 balance changes
Let’s dive straight into the weapon balance changes for COD: Mobile Season 6. There are mostly nerfs, and affect only four weapons as well as their attachments.

There’s also some nerfs and buffs to three melee weapons in COD Mobile Season 6:

- Sickle: Slightly increase the damage range
New SMG MX9 and Swarm scorestreak
To unlock the XM9 in COD Mobile Season 6, all you need to do is level your Battle Pass up to tier 21. For the Swarm scorestreak, all you need to do is level your Battle Pass up to tier 14. It is important to note this is in the free tiers of the Battle Pass, so you don’t have to purchase a Premium Bundle.
The XM9 SMG is a new functional weapon, with a rapid-fire rate and offers a whole lot of mobility. Its baseline stats without any attachments are:
- Damage: 30
- Fire Rate: 65
- Accuracy: 62
- Mobility: 102
- Range: 52
- Control: 64
The new scorestreak released with the COD: Mobile Season 6 update sounds frightening. It is called “Swarm” and unleashes a “swarm of lethal Hunter Killer drones” when used. It costs 1100 to use. To be exact, that’s four Hunter Killer drones.
It will be interesting to see how these weapon balance changes, as well as the addition of a new SMG and a scorestreak, affect the game’s overall meta.
Hopefully, competitive COD: Mobile players can use the balance changes and additions to their advantage. Once the dust settles around the COD: Mobile Season 6 update sometime next week, we will provide you with a competitive loadout for the MX9 to use.
If you are looking to compete locally in COD: Mobile competitions, both ACGL and Mettlestate offer regular cups to compete in.
