CDL Stage 4 Major results

A total of 12 teams competed in the US for their share of the $500,000 USD prize pool. At the current Dollar to Rand exchange rate, that’s roughly R9.1 million, not to mention the CDL Points up for grabs.

We saw the double-elimination bracket get off to an exciting start, with all matches being best-of-five, with the exception of the grand finals, which is best-of-seven.

Los Angeles Thieves (LA Thieves) got off to a great start, beating Minnesota RØKKR 3-1, Atlanta FaZe 3-1, and OpTic Texas to make it to the grand finals of the CDL Stage 4 Major. After OpTic Texas got knocked down to the lower bracket, the squad came back fighting to sweep Atlanta FaZe in the loser’s bracket with a 3-0 scoreline.

This set up an exciting CDL Stage 4 Major grand final between LA Thieves and OpTic Texas. Unfortunately for OpTic Texas, however, they couldn’t take their revenge on LA Thieves, who stole the show with some phenomenal plays to close out the grand finals with a 4-2 scoreline.

Final standings:
  • 1st place – LA Thieves wins $200,000.
  • 2nd place – OpTic Texas wins $120,000.
  • 3rd place – Atlanta FaZe wins $80,000.
  • 4th place – New York Subliners wins $40,000.
  • 5th & 6th place – Minnesota RØKKR and Toronto Ultra win $20,000 each.
  • 7th & 8th place – Florida Mutineers and Seattle Surge win $10,000 each.

Congratulations to LA Thieves for stealing the show and winning the lion’s share of the prize pool.
