EGL Apex Season 1 announced with R70,000 prize pool

EveSports is a division of Evetech and T3, following successful CS:GO and Dota 2 tournaments, have announced the biggest Apex Legends tournament in South Africa to date. It is called EGL Apex Season 1 and it kicks off at the start of March 2022. The tournament, from EveSports, HP Omen and produced by Turbo Tortoise features a mammoth R70,000 prize pool for Apex Legends trios to fight over.

EGL Apex Season 1 details

Registration for the EGL Apex Season 1 tournament is open now and will run until 27 February. You can simply head on over to the tournament’s page on ChallengerMode to register today. This is a battle royale Trios tournament so grab two friends (and one substitute if you want) and enter without delay.

There are a maximum of 160 spots for three-man squads in the qualifiers. 80 teams will make it out of the qualifiers and into the main event, which will feature a total of 10 broadcasts for fans to watch.

EGL Apex Season 1 important dates:
  • Registrations: 16th February – 27rd February
    Qualifiers: 1st March – 7th March
    Main Event starts: 8th March
    Finals: 2-3 April 2022

As we’ve mentioned earlier, there’s a mammoth prize pool of R70,000 to fight for. At the time of writing, we don’t know the exact prize pool distribution. On Twitter, EveSports did note that the top eight finishers will win their share of the R70,000 prize pool, suggesting only the top eight Trios get a piece of the pie.
