South African tournament organizer Mettlestate has announced the first season of the Valorant Radiant Series for South African esports teams to compete following the All Stars Valorant tournament. There will be multiple seasons with both Open and Pro divisions, so let’s dive into the details.

Valorant Radiant Series S1 details

First up, the first season of the Valorant Radiant Series from Mettlestate will run for six weeks, starting on 24 October 2022. Registration is free, so gather your team and head over to the registration page before 23 October. While the teams have been picked for the Pro Division, anyone can enter the Open Division.

Mettlestate’s Head Project Manager, Carly Twaddle, explains: “We are so excited to announce the first season of the Valorant Radiant series! We’ve seen that, historically, hosting consistent competitive opportunities really stimulates the scene. Valorant agents now have more opportunities to display their grit and talent on a competitive and official level. It’s only a matter of time until the scene demands Riot’s – and the world’s – attention.”

The Valorant Radiant Series features a prize pool of R10,000, with R7,000 for the Pro Division and R3,000 for the Open Division each season.

The schedule:
  • Registration: 10 – 23 October
  • Group stages: 24 October – 13 November
  • Playoffs: 14 – 18 November
  • Grand finals: 19 November

If you want to watch some local esports action from the Valorant Radiant Series, then you are in luck. The Grand Finals of the Pro Division will be broadcasted via Mettlestate’s Twitch channel, as well as on GINX if you have DSTV, on channel 127.
