Rocket League replacing Esports Tokens with Credits in April
Attention, Rocket League players and fans! The developers are officially replacing Esports Tokens with Credits very soon. In fact, it’s happening on 22 April 2025, and after this date, the same in-game currency will be used for all virtual transactions.
The currency is, of course, credits, and will be used in the Item and Esports Shops. It’s a way of simplifying the process of purchasing. If you’ve recently played Rocket League, you’ll know that no one could purchase Esports Tokens since 21 March 2025, and on 22 April 2025, all remaining Esports Tokens will be converted, so take this as a PSA.
Rocket League Esports Tokens conversion
On 22 April 2025 at 16:00 PT time, all Esports Tokens will be converted into Credits. Then, Credits will be boosted 10% and rounded out to the nearest 50, which is definitely to the advantage of Rocket League players.
It is important to note that the Esports Tokens conversion rate to Credits varies by country. The developers provided an example, stating:
For example, in the United States, 1 Esports Token is worth 0.9881 Credits. So if a player in the United States has 1200 Esports Tokens, theyโll have 1350 Credits with the boost and rounding taken into account.
At the time of writing, it’s unclear what the precise conversion rate for South Africa is. We do know, however, that the Esports Shop will be renamed the RLCS Shop. Further, the RLCS Shop will launch with universal Decals, representing some of the top teams competing in RLCS 2025.
These are the first-ever batch of universal Decals based on RLCS teams. They can be equipped on almost any car body. You’ll also find Takeover Goal Explosions representing some of the RLCS 2025 teams in the RLCS Shop starting on 22 April 2025.
