RLCS 2024 Major 2 London results
In case you didn’t know, a South African team called Limitless competed at the RLCS 2024 Copenhagen Major 1 event. That wasn’t the case with Major 2, as Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) qualifiers for the event were won by a team filled with Spanish players called Team Mobula. With that out of the way, here’s what went down at the RLCS Major 2 in London!
RLCS Major 2 London results
From 20 to 23 June 2024 at the Copper Box Arena venue in London, we saw 16 of the best Rocket League esports teams compete for their share of the $255,000 prize pool.
After a grueling 16-team Swiss System format group stage, eight teams remained with a shot at glory in the single-elimination playoffs. We saw Team Falcons make their way to the grand final by beating Gen.G 4-1, and then narrowly escaping the clutches of Gentle Mates Alpine.
On the other side of the bracket, G2 Stride took out Spacestation with a convincing 4-1 win and FURIA with a 4-2 win to make it to the grand final. In the grand final of the RLCS 2024 Major 2 London, Team Falcons took an early lead, but G2 Stride retaliated with a brilliant four wins in a row to become the champions with a final 4-1 scoreline.
Congratulations go out to the North American superteam, G2 Stride, for winning the RLCS 2024 Major 2 London event and claiming the first-place prize of $75,000 and 40 RLCS points!
