ACGL Grind announced with R45,000 prize pool

South African tournament organizer African Cyber Gaming League (ACGL) has announced Grind, a new mega-event powered by Predator. It features three esports titles, community goals, and a total possible combined prize pool of R45,000! Let’s dive into the details.

ACGL Grind details

ACGL Grind features three esports titles, namely: Rainbow Six Siege, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Rocket League. Therefore, there are three separate leagues, and each of them comes with a base prize pool of R10,000. However, if community goals are reached, each of these leagues’ prize pools can increase by an additional R5,000.

Nick Holden, managing director of ACGL, explains: “We are excited to launch the ACGL Grind event, which brings together three titles and opens the door to more. We believe that this event provides a unique opportunity for fans to not only engage with their favourite titles but also compete for prizes and support their community through social media challenges. Partnering with Predator, we are committed to supporting the local gaming community and providing opportunities for growth and engagement.”

Registrations for Rocket League are open, with Rainbow Six Siege registrations (and some news) opening on 5 April 2023, and lastly, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 registrations opening on 12 April 2023.

There’s also a social media challenge. This will determine the top two esports titles from ACGL Grind. The top two titles will stay in ACGL Grind for another season, while the lowest title will be eliminated and replaced with the winning game from the ACGL Ember vote.

  • #RLZAGrind for Rocket League.

If you would like another esports title in Season 2 of ACGL grind, then learn about the ACGL Ember Vote system below.

ACGL Ember Vote:

“The Ember vote is a chance for fans to vote for their favourite title that did not make it to this season’s lineup. Fans can nominate a new title or vote for an existing one on the ACGL Grind home page by submitting as many ACGL embers as they like. The title with the highest amount of embers by the end of season 1 will be selected to be included in season 2.”

According to ACGL, fans can expect regular live streams via the ACGL Twitch channel. “This provides an opportunity for fans to not only watch the competition but also interact with the players and engage with the community.”

You can keep up to date with all their announcements by following ACGL on Twitter and Facebook and joining their Discord server.
