Sign up for upcoming Mettlestate Tournaments
A number of quickfire, but not insignificant, announcements were made via the Mettlestate social media recently. The announcements bring a number of cash cups and other online events to South Africans still in the middle of the national lockdown.
A new look site, the Vodacom Supercup, ASUS Cups, Apex Legends and more rolled out recently. We covered the Vodacom Supercup already, but if FIFA and PUBG Mobile against rugby players isn’t your thing, maybe the following will be.
ROG Lockdown Cup
This PUBG Squads cup on PC features a R15,000 cash prize pool sponsored by ASUS Republic of Gamers. Registrations close 15 April with matches scheduled from 16 April. The finals – which will feature at least ten teams – is scheduled for 10 May.
Apex Predator Cup
The Apex Predator Cup is a little misleading in that it is actually cups. Acer Predator have put up R5,000 per Apex Legends weekly cup for a total of eight weeks. Each cup is played on Sunday with registrations closing the Saturday. The Apex Legends cups are for three-player squads on PC.
Mettlestate Leagues
Another slightly odd naming convention for the Mettlestate Leagues in partnership with ROG. Yes, the same ROG as for the Lockdown Cup. What’s maybe a little confusing with the Mettlestate Leagues is that they are actually standalone cups with cash prizes.
The first is a Rainbow Six Siege cup on 11 April. The PC tournament offers a R2,000 cash prize pool.
Up next is Rocket League on 18 April. The cross-platform title will feature a prize pool of R1,500. Registrations open on 13 April.
Kyalami 6 Hour
A racing option rounds things off currently. Registrations close on 12 April for the Kyalami 6 Hour which is scheduled to hit the track on 19 April. There is a cash prize pool of R3,000 on the line. You will need to sign up as a two-person racing team and be ready to compete on PC using Assetto Corsa Competizione. If you haven’t figured it out yet, the track will be… Kyalami.
Keep an eye on the Mettlestate social media for more announcements and details.
