RLCS SSA Fall Open results
Over this past weekend, from 14 to 16 October, the top 16 teams competed for their share of the $20,000 prize pool and some RLCS points. At the current Dollar to Rand exchange rate, that’s roughly R370,000. Following the 16-Team Swiss System Format, eight teams were eliminated on the first day, while the other eight made it to the playoffs bracket.
In the single-elimination playoffs, where all matches are best-of-seven, we saw May Contain Nuts demolish Team Espionage with a 4-0 victory and continue this dominance streak to beat Millennial Times Gaming 4-1 to make it to the finals.
On the other side of the bracket, Orlando Pirates Exdee sped past their opponents beating both Aureon E-Sports and Reformed with clean 4-0 scorelines to make it to the grand final.
However, Orlando Pirates Exdee couldn’t stand up to the might of May Contain Nuts. May Contain Nuts came out swinging, wrecking Orlando Pirates Exdee with a clean 4-0 win to claim victory.
May Contain Nuts wins $6,000 and 16 RLCS points for their dominating performance. Orlando Pirates Exdee, for their outstanding efforts during the RLCS Sub-Saharan Africa Fall Open, wins $4,000 and 12 RLCS points.
This is just the beginning, however, as we look forward to the RLCS SSA Fall Cup, which is scheduled to take place at the end of October.
