R30,000 Mythic Royale for Fortnite announced
The #MythicRoyale Fortnite tournament series has been announced. Brought to life by ACGL, MSI, Redragon and Sparkfox, there is R30,000 cash up for grabs in the first season.
Season one starts from today (3 February) and runs until 27 June. Over the course of the season, Fortnite players on all platforms can compete weekly in tournaments and matchfinders to secure a spot in the monthly custom lobby finale. Competitors need to finish in the top 60 of the ranking leaderboard at the completion of each month’s cycle to secure a finale slot. This is achieved by playing for Elo in all Fortnite competitions on the ACGL site.
The monthly finales will rotate Solos, Duos, and Squads over the course of the first season, and be played on the last Saturday of each month. The monthly finale event will be streamed live via the ACGL YouTube channel.
The Mythic Royale monthly finales will be played on the following dates:
- Solo: 29 February
- Duo: 28 March
- Squad: 25 April
- Solo: 30 May
- Duo: 27 June
How Mythic Royale works
The announcement breaks down the process as follows (which suggests you play as you used to, but with a potential monthly reward waiting):
- Register your interest for the monthly finale
- Sign up and compete in the regular Fortnite cups to earn Elo
- Use the Fortnite matchfinders to secure additional Elo for your ranking
- Finish top 60 in the leaderboard
- Compete in the finale and… win.
Avatar Kit
A new Avatar Kit will be available for ACGL users to unlock. Once earned, the kit can be used to customise your user profile on the site. To secure the Avatar Kit, you will need to complete the following goals during the course of the season:
- Watch a Mythic Royale live stream
- Comment on a Mythic Royale article
- Play in one Fortnite tournament
