Mettlestate launches Battlegrounds system and events
With their brand-new website featuring a host of changes and improvements, South African tournament organizer Mettlestate has also launched a new challenge system called Battlegrounds. In fact, the first event is already live as well, featuring a tonne of action for local gamers to enjoy. Here’s what you need to know.
Mettlestate Battlegrounds explained
Battlegrounds is the new challenge system from Mettlestate, where participants can win exciting prizes each month, play the games they love, climb the leaderboard, and start fresh with every reset. Mettlestate has provided an overview of how the Battlegrounds system works, with the following four points explaining the process.
- Challenge your opponents: Pick the game you want to dominate and challenge other players or teams to a match.
- Compete and earn points: Win matches to climb the Grand Leaderboard. Your wins and losses determine your ranking.
- Claim monthly prizes: At the end of each month, the top-ranked players and teams will win exclusive prizes based on their placement.
- Reset and repeat: When the leaderboard resets each month, the competition starts fresh, giving everyone a chance to prove their skills again.

The prize pool (all going to the winner) for the first Mettlestate Battlegrounds event is R1,000, or R2,000 if the player has VIP status. The event is underway; you can check it out via the EAFC Mobile Battlegrounds page.
