Halo Infinite multiplayer beta gets surprise launch
Earlier this week, Microsoft celebrated the 20th Anniversary of Xbox, which also happens to be the 20th birthday of Halo: Combat Evolved. During the festivities, developer 343 Industries made a surprise announcement, launching Halo Infinite’s multiplayer component ahead of the game’s official release on 8 December 2021.
As many readers might know, Halo has a storied esports history. Now, everyone on PC or with an Xbox One or Xbox Series S/X console can jump right into the Halo Infinite multiplayer beta. Here are the must-know details.
Halo Infinite multiplayer beta details
You can download the Halo Infinite multiplayer beta right now. Despite the “beta” naming, this is actually the full Halo Infinite multiplayer experience but there are some bugs and known issues. With the launch, also comes the release of Season 1 entitled “Heroes of Reach” and the complete battle pass.
Halo Infinite’s multiplayer beta is completely free and features 10 maps as well as a variety of game modes. You can simply head on over to the Microsoft Store or the Xbox Store on your gaming device to start the download. This is a fantastic opportunity for gamers to start learning the new maps and hone their skills, as local tournament organizers will surely announce some Halo Infinite events soon.
