Get Valorant Closed Beta access by watching any Twitch stream for the game

In case you didn’t know, Riot Games’ tactical FPS, Valorant, has been in its Closed Beta phase for over a week now. Fans are trying to get in, but the only way to get beta access was to watch Twitch.tv streams from a handful of streamers. Riot Games has now opened up options for fans to get Valorant Closed Beta access a bit more, allowing all Twitch streams of the game to give players a chance at getting into the closed beta.

Valorant Closed Beta access

All you need to do for a chance to get Valorant Closed Beta access is watch any Twitch.tv stream where someone is playing the game. For South Africans, things get a bit more tricky, as your Riot account’s home-based region needs to be in one of the following regions or countries:

  • Europe
  • Canada
  • United States
  • Turkey
  • Russia
  • CIS countries

With this change, it is important to note that the number of Valorant Closed Beta access drops hasn’t increased. Riot explained that this change only means you can watch any Valorant Twitch.tv stream for a chance at access.

Updates on a few things happening in Valorant:
  1. We’ve increased our current closed beta server loads by +25% to meet demand and are ramping up even more.
  2. We know it hurts to be unlucky, so we went through a few thousand of the most engaged VALORANT stream viewers and manually gave access as a thank you. Thank you, your internet, and your eyeballs.
  3. We have already banned a number of account sellers and are actively tracking more to ban.

If you have been lucky enough to get access to the Closed Beta, then you can stream your gameplay now. You can do so by enabling in-game drops through your Twitch account.

Please note: At the time of writing, it is unclear if you need a VPN to play Valorant from South Africa or not, due to the Closed Beta being restricted to certain regions.
