Catch the MotoGP Virtual Race featuring top riders this Sunday
Earlier this week, we spoke about how sports (and motorsports) are moving into the digital world of esports. The latest sport to go digital is MotoGP. This is likely to keep fans engaged while over 20% of the world’s population is now in some form of lockdown. On Sunday, 29 March 2020, you can watch the MotoGP Virtual Race, with some top riders competing.
MotoGP Virtual Race
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the MotoGP Championship has been postponed, just like all other traditional sporting events during this time.
MotoGP is spreading the news of a MotoGP Virtual Race, with #StayAtHomeGP, where top riders in the sport will compete online for all fans to watch. The riders will use MotoGP 19.

In a Press Release, MotoGP explains that:
“The Virtual Race will see these legends competing online thanks to the official MotoGP videogame from developer Milestone. The track for the Virtual Race will be the stunning Autodromo del Mugello, with six laps around the digital rendition of one of the world’s greatest racetracks set to decide the first-ever Virtual Race winner.”
Fans can catch all the action on 29 March at 15:00 SAST. The whole event, including the qualifying, will be broadcasted. The aforementioned qualifying will take place via a five-minute time attack, which will decide the grid.
