ATK tournaments you can join during the lockdown
With South Africa on lockdown until 17 April, one of the best ways to spend your time if you are into esports is to join some local tournaments. ATK Arena has announced a series of tournaments that you can join in on the lockdown. Here’s what you need to know about these online ATK tournaments.
ATK Warzone Wednesdays details
There will be three ATK Warzone Wednesdays tournaments. This weekly tournament series runs from 1 to 15 April 2020, and it’s a great way to spend the lockdown time. Each of the three tournaments will feature an R1,000 prize pool. This means that the total prize pool for the three ATK Warzone Wednesdays clock in at R3,000.
You can head on over to the tournament’s Quicket page to register. Registrations cost R50. The weekly prize pool distribution looks as follows:
- 1st – R400.00
- 2nd – R200.00
- 3rd – R150.00
- 4th – R50.00
- 5th – R50.00
- 6th – R50.00
- 7th – R50.00
- 8th – R50.00
The ATK Warzone Wednesdays tournaments will, of course, be played entirely online. This is a solo kill race tournament, meaning the players will the most points win.
Each one of these local Call of Duty: Warzone titles will kick off on 13:00 SAST on the day. Dates are as follows: 1 April, 8 April, and 15 April. All players must just the ATK Arena Discord server, to submit scores, organize matches and more. Don’t forget to check out the rules on the tournament’s Quicket page.
ATK have also announced a R6,000 prize pool tournament for Warzone. Entry is R200 per player and will be played on 18 April from 13h00.
ATK Weekly Friday Fortnite Duos
Fortnite fans can grab a friend and join in on the ATK Fortnite Duos tournaments scheduled to take place every Friday starting on 3 April 2020.
You can register for the online tournament by visiting its Quicket page. Registrations cost R100 per team. There’s an R1,500 prize pool up for grabs, and just like the Warzone tournament above, you need to join the ATK Arena Discord server, to submit scores, organize matches and more.
This tournament will run from 13:00 to 18:00 each remaining Friday of the lockdown. Dates are as follows: 3 April, 10 April, and 17 April. Check out the rules on the tournament’s Quicket page.
ATK Fortnite Frenzy
ATK Arena’s monthly custom duos Fortnite tournament is back. It features a whopping R8000 in prize money and you can register on the tournament’s Quicket page right now.
The tournament will be held on 11 April from 13:00 to 18:00 SAST, with an entrance fee of R150 per team. As with all ATK tournaments, you will need to join the ATK Arena Discord server to submit your results and more.
ATK Apex Legends Squad Mondays
The latest ATK online tournament to get announced is the ATK Apex Legends Squad Mondays. Each remaining Monday in the lockdown period (6th and 13th April) will feature R2,250 in prize money in this Apex Legends kill race tournament series.
Head on over to the tournament’s Quicket page to register. Registrations costs R150 per squad. The tournaments will run from 13:00 to 15:00 on 6th and 13th April 2020. The top three places in the first tournament will not only win their share of the R2,250 prize pool, but also gain entry into the second tournament. The first place will receive entry into ATK’s “next large prize pool tournament.“
These tournament forms part of ATK’s initiative to push out more online tournaments, to give South African gamers something to do during the lockdown. We will keep you updated if more tournaments get announced.
