Tournament registrations have opened for this year’s Electronics & Gaming Expo in Cape Town. The ACGL-operated Call of Duty and FIFA 18 tournaments have seen their details revealed with sign-ups are now welcome.

COD:WWII

Up for grabs in the PlayStation 4 LAN tournament is R46,000. In previous years, team entries have surpassed 16 with the final days matches featuring on the EGE stage since 2015. Team registrations are available here and require teams to have purchased an expo weekend pass. The PS4 tournament is a BYO with matches starting on Friday afternoon of the expo and running until close on Sunday.

FIFA 18

The FIFA 18 tournament will be played on both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One over four heats. Players who place top two per platform per heat will return on Sunday to play for the R10,000 in cash up for grabs. The Championship bracket will be a home and away playoff on both platforms to determine just who is EGE’s top FIFA 18 player.

Additional tournament titles have been added, with Injustice 2, Tekken 7 and Fortnite all featuring with cash prizes. A special school’s day is also happening on the Friday.

EGE General

The Electronics & Gaming Expo (EGE) will be hosted at the Cape Town International Convention Centre from 27 to 29 July 2018. This year marks the event’s fourth year of operation and offers Cape Town gamers, geeks and cosplayers an opportunity to connect, play and discover.

This year, Computer Mania and their partners will be offering attendees a variety of mini-competitions and discounts on selected products. Details of the specials will be revealed closer to the event.
