South African Street Fighter and Tekken stars fight in Las Vegas this weekend
Late in September, we reported on the Red Bull Hit the Streets South African tournaments for both Tekken 7 and Street Fighter V coming to thrilling conclusions. Local champions were crowned, with Goliath Gaming’s Jabhi “JabhiM†Mabuza winning the Street Fighter V tournament, and Bravado Gaming’s Farouk “DaXpt†Suleman lifting the Tekken 7 trophy.
This weekend, the two local fighting game stars will compete in their respective titles in Las Vegas, USA, at the Red Bull Kumite 2021 championship’s Last Chance Qualifier.
Red Bull Kumite 2021 details
There’s only one spot left in the Red Bull Kumite 2021 tournament for both Tekken 7 and Street Fighter V. These final spots will go to the winner of the Last Chance Qualifier.
There’s a whole lot on the line, as Farouk “DaXpt†Suleman will compete against seven other international players in Tekken 7. Jabhi “JabhiM†Mabuza will compete against seven other international Street Fighter V players for a shot at glory.
The first day of competition features the Tekken 7, as well as Guilty Gear Strive tournaments. It all starts on Saturday, 13 November at 23:00 SAST. At the time of writing, it is unclear which tournament will begin first, but we expect it to be Guilty Gear Strive. The Last Chance Qualifier for Street Fighter V kicks off on Sunday, 14 November at 23:00 SAST and will run until 08:00.
South African esports fans shouldn’t miss out on watching these two local stars compete for a spot in the main event of Red Bull Kumite 2021. You can catch all the action on the official Red Bull Twitch channel. The winner of each Last Chance Qualifier will go directly into the main event, which takes place on the same days as mentioned earlier in this article.
