Virtual Chief Challenge Season 2 with R15,000 prize pool
Back in 2021, we saw the first Kaizer Chiefs Virtual Chief Challenge take place. Now, thanks to Toyota South Africa Motors (TSAM) and the Toyota Gaming Engine (TTGE), the Virtual Chief Challenge Season 2 has been announced, featuring an R15,000 prize pool and Kaizer Chiefs merch up for grabs. Here’s what FIFA 23 esports fans need to know.
Virtual Chief Challenge S2 details
First and foremost, registration is completely free and open to PlayStation gamers on PS4 or PS5. As this is a Kaizer Chiefs fan challenge, players will need to compete as the Kaizer Chiefs F.C. team on FIFA 23. All players must reside in a Sub-Saharan African Country.
Simply head on over to the Kaizer Chiefs Virtual Chief Challenge page on TTGE to register right now. The total prize pool is R15,000. Check out the prize pool distribution below.
- 1st place – R10,000 + Kaizer Chiefs merch.
- 2nd place – R3,000 + Kaizer Chiefs merch.
- 3rd place – R2,000 + Kaizer Chiefs merch.
There will be four rounds of online qualifiers, with two taking place this weekend and another two taking place the weekend thereafter. Check out the full schedule below.
- Round 1 qualifier: 4 February 2023
- Round 2 qualifier: 5 February 2023
- Round 3 qualifier: 11 February 2023
- Round 4 qualifier: 12 February 2023
- Top 16: 18 February 2023
- Quarter-Finals: 18 February 2023
- Semi-Finals: 19 February 2023
- Finals: 19 February 2023
There’s also a grand final taking place on 25 February 2023. The event’s page on TTGE explains:
“The TTGE Virtual Chief Challenge Champion will move on to the Grand Finale, a match against the Amakhosi Playoffs Champion, at KC Village for the title of Ultimate FIFA Chief of All Chiefs. The Amakhosi Playoff Champion will either be Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, Khama Billiat, Bruce Bvuma, or Itumeleng Khune. Only time will tell….”
