The Grid Championship starts this week with R10,000 prize pool

Are you a racing fan who loves competing in the local esports scene? Then the Assetto Corsa Competizione event called The Grid Championship, from South African tournament organizer Mettlestate is not to be missed. It kicks off this week, so start your engines and learn about all the important details.

The Grid Championship details

The Grid Championship event is open to Assetto Corsa Competizione players on PC. It starts this Thursday, 2 February 2023. You can register your team by heading on over to Mettlestate’s dedicated page for the event. Registration is completely free.

The tournament features a prize pool of R10,000 to compete for. At the time of writing, the exact prize pool distribution is unknown. We do know, however, that this is a two-month event, as The Grid Championship runs until 26 March 2023.

There are a total of eight race days. Each day, on the dates outlined in the schedule below, the driver briefing starts at 20:05 SAST, and the race starts 10 minutes later, at 20:15.

Race Day Schedule:
  • 2 February 2023 – Race Day 1
  • 9 February 2023 – Race Day 2
  • 16 February 2023 – Race Day 3
  • 23 February 2023 – Race Day 4
  • 2 March 2023 – Race Day 5
  • 9 March 2023 – Race Day 6
  • 16 March 2023 – Race Day 7
  • 23 March 2023 – Final Race Day
