Mamelodi Sundowns FIFA 23 Championships online qualifier

From South African tournament organizer Mettlestate and Mamelodi Sundowns F.C. comes the Mamelodi Sundowns FIFA 23 Championship 2023, following a successful first outing last year. The Mamelodi Sundowns FIFA 23 Championship main event features a massive R200,000 prize pool, with finals taking place at rAge 2023 in December.

To become one of the eight finalists who will compete at rAge 2023 for the huge prize pool, you will have to either win one of four offline events or place in the top four via the online qualifier. Here are the details of the online qualifier so you don’t miss out!

Mamelodi Sundowns FIFA 23 online qualifier

The online qualifier for the Mamelodi Sundowns FIFA 23 Championship starts next week. Registration closes this Sunday, 15 October 2023. If you are a FIFA 23 player, we urge you to join the tournament for free by heading to its dedicated page on the Mettlestate website. The top four players qualify for the main event at rAge 2023!

The Group Stage kicks off on Monday, 16 October 2023. Following the Group Stage, we will see the Playoffs begin on Monday, 6 November 2023. Below, you can learn more about the Mamelodi Sundowns FIFA 23 event as per Mettlestate’s official rules page.

Group Stage:

• All participants will be placed into separate groups.  
• All participants will schedule their matches via the allocated WhatsApp group for the league.  
• All matches will be played as a best of three.  

• Top 2 participants from each group will qualify for playoffs at the end of the group stage.  
• For game settings, please refer to the “Game Settings” below.  

Playoffs

• The playoffs will commence on the 30th of October and end on the 10th of November.  
• The top two participants will be placed into a playoff bracket 
• Qualifying participants will be placed into a single elimination bracket  
• Each bracket will play a best of five to determine which participant proceeds through to the next round.  
• Participants will play up until the final round to determine who proceeds to the grand finals.  

Grand Finals

• The final two participants play in the grand finals on the 11th of November.  
• The final two participants will play a best of seven matches.  
• Finalists are required to stream their POV to a private channel so Mettlestate can pull feeds for the Twitch cast.  
• The grands finals will be streamed to Twitch and potentially more platforms.  
• At the end of the best of five, the participant with 3 match wins will be crowned the grand champion.
