12 Dota 2 esports teams competed for the last two spots at the massive annual event, The International 2022, on LAN in Singapore to see which two would join 18 others for a shot at the Aegis of Champions. Here’s what went down during The International 2022’s Last Chance qualifiers.
TI 2022 Last Chance results
The 2nd and 3rd-place finishers from the Regional Qualifiers completed at the SunTec Stadium in Singapore for only two spots in the group stage of The International 2022. With the likes of Team Secret, Vici Gaming, Na’Vi and more competing, the competition was fierce.
Following the Last Chance qualifier group stage, teams were seeded into the playoffs bracket based on their performance during the group stage.
Team Secret came out swinging, knocking down Xtreme Gaming with a reverse sweep, then 2-0’ing T1 to face Virtus.pro for the match to claim a spot at The International 2022. Against Virtus.pro, Team Secret again wasted no time, beating Virtus.pro 2-0 with both maps combined lasting under one hour and 10 minutes.
After getting knocked down to the lower bracket by Virtus.pro, Team Liquid made quick work of Xtreme Gaming with a 2-0 victory, followed by a narrow win against Vici Gaming, reverse sweeping the Chinese team. They then took revenge on Virtus.pro with a quick 2-0 as each map lasted just over 30 minutes to claim the final spot at The International 2022.
Congratulations to Team Secret and Team Liquid for narrowly making it to The International 2022’s main event. We wish these teams and the 18 who already qualified previously the best of luck as they are set to compete for a mammoth prize pool and the coveted Aegis of Champions from 15 to 30 October 2022.
