Hunter steps down from eXdee Gaming Dota 2

News out of the eXdee Gaming Dota 2 team is that Daniel “Hunter” de Villiers is going to be stepping down from the core starting squad to focus on his studies, effective immediately. It is my understanding that the team is currently looking for a mid or roaming support player to fill the gap in their team, and Hunter will be retained as a sub to help plug any gaps going forward.
Hunter, along with his brother Fury, were part of a young upstart team that in early 2017 were ploughing their way through the lower divisions of the VS Gaming 2017 season. They were very quickly snapped up by eXdee Gaming as their Masters team. The team performed decently throughout the year, and achieved a few notable victories. 2018 has been a different beast altogether, as eXdee Gaming have been struggling with consistency. This change will hopefully allow the team to pick up a player who is more focused on the game and help eXdee Gaming put together some consistent quality performances.
We approached eXdee Gaming owner DeWet “Ridditz” Lombard-Bovéy for a statement about the change.
“It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to Daniel “Hunter” de Villiers.
Daniel has decided to step down from a full time role with eXdee as he focuses on his studies moving forward.
Over the past year, Daniel has shown amazing progress, and it has been an absolute pleasure to have him in the team. His humor and wit have kept us on teamspeak talking hours after games are done. And he will be missed by the entire team.
He will still remain with Exdee for now, as a sub. While he focuses on his studies, and we wish him all the best moving forward. Hunter has stayed loyal and true to eXdee. And we cannot thank him enough for that.”
