ESL One Germany announced for Dota 2 fans to enjoy in October

ESL has announced the latest of their online tournaments, ESL One Germany. Dota 2 fans can watch all the action next month, starting on 5 October 2020. The ESL One Germany tournament features some of the best teams from both Europe and CIS regions and has a huge prize pool to fight for.

ESL One Germany details

A total of 16 teams from Europe and CIS will compete at ESL One Germany for their share of the $400,000 prize pool. To put this into a South African perspective, the prize pool is roughly R6.5 million.

The group stage will run from 5 to 20 October 2020, following a modified Swiss-system format, where teams will stop playing after either 3 wins or 3 losses. The eight teams who get three wins will head to the playoffs. The remaining eight will get eliminated from the tournament.

The playoffs will kick off on 23 October and run until 1 November. These playoffs will follow a standard double-elimination bracket. All matches are best-of-three, with the exception of the grand finals, which is best-of-five.

Eleven of the top teams in Europe/CIS have already been invited. At the time of writing, ESL is yet to announce the final invited team. The last four spots will be taken up by teams who qualify for the tournament.

As you can see from the image above via ESL Dota 2 Twitter, the invited teams already look fantastic. You should be able to watch all the action live on the ESL Dota 2 Twitch.tv and YouTube channels.

With ESL One Germany starting two weeks after OGA Dota PIT Season 3 concludes, there’s a whole lot for esports Dota 2 fans to look forward to.
