DreamLeague Season 29 viewer’s guide
Are you ready for another huge Dota 2 esports event now that the dust has settled over PGL Wallachia Season 8, where BetBoom Team swept Aurora Gaming under the rug with a clean 3-0 win. Next up, it’s DreamLeague Season 8, and we can’t wait to see who comes out on top.
Important DreamLeague S29 details
Just like past DreamLeague events, DreamLeague Season 29 is an online tournament held on the Europe West servers. DreamLeague Season 29 kicks off this week, on Wednesday, 13 May 2026, and finishes up with the Grand Final next Sunday, 24 May 2026.
Some of the best Dota 2 esports teams in the world are competing for their share of the $1 million prize pool. At the current Dollar to Rand exchange rate, that’s roughly R16.5 million.
The tournament features two stages of competition, starting with the Group Stage (13 to 16 May). In the Group Stage, there are two single round-robin groups of eight teams each, with each series consisting of two games. The top four teams from each group advance to the Upper Bracket of the Playoffs Stage, while the 5th/6th place teams from each group go to the Lower Bracket of the Playoffs Stage, and the rest are eliminated.
From 17 to 24 May 2026, we’ll see the DreamLeague Season 29 Playoffs Stage take place, featuring a double-elimination bracket. All matches are BO3, except for the Grand Final, which is BO5.
