Dota 2 BTS Pro Series announced
It seems that despite the COVID-19 pandemic, we have more Dota 2 esports tournaments to enjoy. The ESL Los Angeles regional leagues have kept fans entertained for weeks now (with the EU/CIS league still going), and now, we get to see the BTS Pro Series, kicking off with the group stages on 10 April 2020.
Dota 2 BTS Pro Series
Beyond the Summit (BTS) announced the BTS Pro Series yesterday. It is, of course, an entirely online tournament with two regions. There’s the Southeast Asia region as well as the South/North America region.
Both of the leagues will have a $50,000 prize pool (roughly R910,000) to fight for, with top teams from each region competing. The group stages, kicking off on 10 April, will be in a BO3, round-robin format, with the top four teams advancing to the upper bracket of the playoffs. The bottom two teams will be eliminated, while the 5th and 6th place teams in the groups will advance to the lower bracket of the playoffs.
The playoffs will run from 23 to 26 April in a double-elimination format, with a BO5 grand final. Check out the teams in each of the two Dota 2 BTS Pro Series regional leagues below.
North/South America league:
- Evil Geniuses
- Quincy Crew
- Cr4zy
- Cloud9
- Business Associates
- Beastcoast
- FURIA Esports
- Thunder Predator
Southeast Asia league:
- Fnatic
- TNC Predator
- Team Adriot
- BOOM Esports
- Geek Fam
- CR
- T1
- Reality Rift
TNC Predator and Fnatic are clearly the favourites in the BTS Pro Series SEA league. In the North/South America league, Evil Geniuses look to be the clear favourite, especially after their win at ESL Log Angeles regional NA league. However, Beastcoast is on a rampage as of late, winning the South American ESL Los Angeles regional league with ease.
We will just have to see which teams come out on top, by watching the action on the BTS Twitch.tv channel.
