BTS Pro Series playoffs – What you need to know
The Beyond the Summit (BTS) Pro Series is well underway, with the playoffs starting today, 23rd April 2020. Both the Southeast Asia region, and the South/North America regional tournaments now have their final six teams entering the playoffs stages, with a total of four teams getting eliminated from the tournament.
BTS Pro Series playoffs
The BTS Pro Series playoffs for both regions will take place from 23rd to 26th April, and there is $50,000 in prize money up for grab in each region. With the group stage now complete, two teams have been eliminated in each region, namely:
- Furia Esports (NA/SA)
- Beastcoast (NA/SA)
- TI (SEA)
- CR (SEA)
Now, onto the BTS Pro Series playoffs, which follows a double-elimination format. All matches are best-of-three, except for the grand finals, which is best-of-five.
Check out the first round of playoff matches taking place on 23 April, in SAST, for both the SEA and the North/South America tournaments below.
Playoff matches for SEA regional tournament:
- Fnatic versus BOOM Esports – 23 April at 09:00 (Upper bracket)
- Team Adroit versus TNC Predator – 23 April at 12:00 (Upper bracket)
Playoff matches for South/North America regional tournament:
- Quincy Crew versus business associates – 23 April at 22:00 (Upper bracket)
- CR4Zy versus Evil Geniuses – 24 April at 01:00 (Upper bracket)
There is still a lot of Dota 2 esports to look forward to in the BTS Pro Series, with a full three days, and two grand finals. You can catch all the action live on the official Beyond the Summit Twitch.tv channel.
Our favourite in the SEA region remains Fnatic, while in the South/North America regional online league, we can’t help but think that Evil Geniuses will recover from their average performance in the group stage. With that being said, anything can happen, and we might see a totally unexpected team win it all.
