The International 2022 final results
The final four teams duked it out over this past weekend, fighting for the lion’s share of the massive prize pool. In the lower bracket, we saw the last Chinese squad, Team Aster, fall against a powerful Team Liquid with a 2-1 scoreline.
Team Secret, led by the legendary Clement “Puppey†Ivanov, in the upper bracket final, faced off against Tundra Esports, a team that barreled through the competition with 2-0 scorelines thus far in the playoffs. While Team Secret managed to take one game off Tundra Esports, they, too, got knocked down to the lower bracket final following an exciting 2-1 match.
In the lower-bracket final, Team Secret pulled out all the stops to secure a 2-1 victory over Team Liquid with relatively fast games, none of which broke the 40-minutes barrier. With a spot in the finals secured, it was the furthest Team Secret has ever made it in a The International.
In the grand finals, however, Puppey’s dream came to a grinding halt. In what is the most one-sided grand finals of a TI in recent history, Tundra Esports came out swinging to smack down Team Secret 3-0 to win The International 2022 and lift the Aegis of Champions.
Tundra Esports wins $8,518,822, while Team Secret limps away with $2,461,033 in prize money. A big congratulations go out to Tundra Esports for slaying the giant, and becoming the champions of The International 2022 in dominating fashion, losing only one game during the entire playoffs.
