New Deadlock Hero Baba: Weapon & Abilities
The Deadlock community has voted, and on 6 October 2026, a new hero entered The Cursed Apple. In case you didn’t know, as part of the massive City Never Sleeps update, Valve is doing a staggered release of the update’s six heroes, based on votes from the community in-game.
The newest addition is Baba, the “pigeon lady” that will wreck your face in Deadlock matches. Before we get to the ability details, as well as the hero’s Innate and weapon, let’s first check out a lore description to get the blood flowing:
“Tourists in the park might not think much of ol’ Baba sitting on her bench – sipping tea and talking to her birds – but the locals have always suspected that something more brews below the surface. In the heat of battle, Baba throws out her Threadsap, a chaotic spool of yarn that steals the very spirit of her enemies, granting her greater power. While her legs might not be what they used to, her trusty bench comes to life with a creak of metal, allowing her to run, jump, and kick with impressive vigor. Parkgoers know it’s best to stay on Baba’s good side, as at tea time you might find yourself splashed with one of Baba’s Brews (some of them much sweeter than others), and when tea time is over – The Birds come out to play… They think they know magic? Oh I’ll show ’em some magic.“
Now, let’s dive into the details, starting with Baba’s weapon in Deadlock.
Baba’s Weapon
One of the most original weapons in Deadlock thus far has to be Baba’s Bunko-Night Special. It’s a cup of tea!
Bunko-Night Special is rapid-fire and long-range, dealing 28 damage per second. The fall-off range is 15 to 42 meters, which is quite good considering what the weapon looks like.
