VS Gaming Finals Standings Wrap

This past weekend saw the culmination of the VS Gaming leagues as the various finals were hosted at Comic Con Africa. We have the standings of the headline series for you below.

Rocket League Championship

HSEL Rocket League

The High School Esports League saw one of this year’s strongest school esports teams in Paul Roos Gymnasium take on up-and-comers Grantleigh.

The team from Paul Roos continued their dominance this year with a convincing win against Grantleigh in a best of seven series to secure the R55,000 up for grabs.

HSEL CS:GO

This year has seen the teams of Parklands College and Rondebosch Boys’ High School leading an improving high school CS:GO scene.

In an efficient display of teamwork and map knowledge, Parklands controlled the majority of the series to secure the top spot in the R55,000 event.

eDiski Final

The FIFA 22 finals featured a cash prize pool of R170,000 on the line, and four players competing to claim glory.

The grand final saw Bravado Gaming’s Masoom Fakie facing Aasim Lamara competing under Pirates Esports. It was the player from Pirates that ended up securing the R100,000 winner’s cheque.

CS:GO Masters

A total of R290,000 cash was the carrot for this year’s VS Gaming CS:GO Masters. Goliath Gaming, blacklaminate, Bravado Gaming and Nixuh all secured spots at the LAN finale.

Nixuh and Bravado Gaming were the two teams to make it to the final day of the tournament. A number of familiar faces feature in the Nixuh, some from a previous era of Bravado Gaming.

This additional level of spice seemd to bring out the best in both teams. In an exhilarating grand final, the Nixuh team secured victory 3-1 and a payday of R150,000.

Our congratulations to the participants and victors of this year’s VS Gaming Finals.
