PGL Antwerp 2022 Americas RMR viewer’s guide

With the ESL Pro League Season 15 now complete, there’s still no shortage of CS:GO esports action for fans to dig their teeth into. The PGL Antwerp 2022 Major takes place in May, but before we get to the Major, there are some RMR events where teams from each region attempt to qualify.

The first one is for the Americas region (both NA and SA) and it features 16 teams, one of which is Complexity, a team featuring South Africans Johnny “JT” Theodosiou (as IGL) and Tiaan “T.c” Coertzen as the coach. Here’s what you need to know about this RMR event leading up to PGL Antwerp 2022.

APL Antwerp Americas RMR details

The PGL Antwerp 2022 Americas RMR event runs from 11th to 15th April 2022. Matches start at 11:30 SAST time each day. The tournament features a 16 Team Swiss System Format, and the Buchholz system is used to seed matches from Round 3 to 5.

All matches are best-of-one, with the exception of the Elimination and Advancement matches, which are best-of-three affairs. The 6th place decider features a best-of-three, single-elimination gauntlet format, and the 1st place decider features a best-of-three single-elimination match if required.

There’s a prize pool of $50,000 to fight for. At the current Dollar to Rand exchange rate, that’s roughly R730,000. The biggest prizes, however, come in the form of spots in different stages of the PGL Antwerp 2022 Major.

  • 1st place – $25,000 and Legend status.
  • 2nd place – $12,500 and Challenger status.
  • 3rd place – $7,500 and Challenger status.
