IEM New York 2020: North America and Europe kick off this week

CS:GO fans are in for a treat this week, as both the Intel Extreme Masters (IEM) New York 2020 North America and European online tournaments will be kicking off. These tournaments feature nice prize pools, and most importantly, some of the best teams in the world competing. Here’s what you need to know.

IEM New York 2020: North America

The North American regional tournament for IEM New York 2020 will run from 6 to 18 October, and features a prize pool of $60,000. The winner of the tournament will also get a spot in the IEM Global Challenge finals, a massive tournament with a $500,000 prize pool taking place in December.

The group stage of the tournament will feature two groups of six teams each. All teams play each other once and all matches are best-of-three. The top three teams in each group will advance to the playoffs, while the bottom three will get eliminated.

IEM New York 2020: Europe

The European tournament for IEM New York 2020 features the biggest prize pool, weighing in at $140,000. There are a total of eight teams competing for their share of the prize pool, and the winner also gets a spot in the IEM Global Challenge finals.

The IEM New York 2020: Europe tournament kicks off on 6 October, and runs until 11 October 2020. The group stage will see two groups of four teams each battle it out. The top two teams proceed to the single-elimination playoffs, while the bottom two teams will get eliminated.
