IEM Katowice 2023 results and highlights

The dust settles over the prestigious Intel Extreme Masters (IEM) Katowice 2023; we’ve got the complete results of the playoffs to share, where CS:GO esports fans got to watch some of the best top-tier Counter-Strike yet, featuring upsets and extremely close matches aplenty.

IEM Katowice 2023 results & highlights

24 of the best CS:GO esports teams in the world were whittled down to just six for the playoffs, which ran from 10 to 12 February 2023. The teams competed for their share of the $1 million prize pool.

At the start of the single-elimination playoffs, we saw Team Liquid overcome Vitality with a close 2-1 match to kick things off, followed by Na’Vi beating down Outsiders with a 2-0.

In the semifinals, G2 Esports eliminated Team Liquid, crushing NA hopes with a convincing 2-0 victory, while Danish powerhouse Heroic knocked out Na’Vi with a very clean 2-0. In the best-of-five Grand Final of IEM Katowice 2023, we saw G2 Esports open strong against Heroic with a 16-12 win on Nuke, followed by a 16-13 win on Mirage.

Heroic didn’t go down without a fight, beating G2 Esports 16-11 on Inferno. However, the Danish team couldn’t push it to a fifth map, as G2 Esports came back swinging on Ancient to win 16-7 and thereby become the IEM Katowice 2023 champions.

A big congratulations go out to G2 Esports for their win at IEM Katowice 2023. G2 Esports walks away with $400,000 and an invite to IEM Cologne 2023, while Heroic limps away with $180,000 in prize money.
