ESL Challenger Rotterdam 2022 South Africa qualifiers this week
All the way back in April 2022, we reported on some fantastic news for local CS:GO esports teams and fans. After a lot of work and effort from individuals behind the scenes, South Africa has its own qualifier for a big international event.
This week, these long-awaited qualifiers will take place, with a spot at ESL Challenger at Rotterdam 2022, a LAN event taking place at the Rotterdam Ahoy arena in the Netherlands in October this year. Here’s what you need to know about the qualifiers.
ESL Challenger Rotterdam ZA qualifiers
Let’s get to the point, as this is a massive opportunity for local CS:GO squads. Today, 29 August 2022, the first open qualifier kicks off, and you can register via this ESEA page. The second open qualifier kicks off on Wednesday, so register at ESEA.
Registration for both open qualifiers closes at 17:45 SAST on the day, and the event begins 15 minutes later. It is important to note that they are open to all ESEA users, not just for Premium users.
The format for the open qualifiers is: Unlimited Single Elimination best-of-one bracket with best-of-three deciders. One team advances to the closed qualifier.
The closed qualifier runs from Friday to Saturday, 2 to 3 September 2022. Four teams will compete for one spot at ESL Challenger Rotterdam 2022. Two teams will be invited, and two teams will join them from the open qualifiers. This closed qualifier will feature a double-elimination bracket with matches being best-of-three.
We would like to wish all the teams competing for that single spot in ESL Challenger Rotterdam 2022 the best of luck. No matter which team from South Africa makes it, we will be sure to support them as best we can!
