BLAST Premier World Final results and highlights
The last big CS:GO esports tournament of the year, BLAST Premier World Final 2022, came to a satisfying conclusion this past weekend.
We saw eight of the best CS:GO teams in the world United Arab Emirates (Abu Dhabi), at the Etihad Arena, competing for their share of the $1 million prize pool.
In the Group Stage, we already saw some big upsets, with Outsiders (the BLAST Fall Finals champs) getting knocked out in Group A, while Danish powerhouse Heroic got eliminated in Group B.
In the playoffs, G2 Esports got past Vitality with an exciting 2-1 series, then proceeded to 2-0 FaZe Clan to make it to the grand finals of the BLAST Premier World Final 2022.
On the other side of the bracket, Team Liquid shocked most CS:GO esports fans with a 2-1 win over Na’Vi, and then went on to reverse sweep OG to make it to the grand finals.
In the grand finals, we saw G2 Esports waste no time against Liquid, with a relatively clean 16-7 win on Inferno, followed by a 16-12 win on Mirage to claim the title of BLAST Premier World Final 2022 champions.
Final standings:
- 1st place – G2 Esports wins $500,000.
- 2nd place – Team Liquid wins $250,000.
- 3rd & 4th place – OG and FaZe Clan win $85,000 each.
- 5th & 6th place – Team Vitality and Na’Vi win $25,000 each.
- 7th & 8th place – Outsiders and Heroic win $15,000 each.
A big congratulations go out to G2 Esports for ending the year with a bang and to their young protegee, Ilya “â m0NESYâ ” Osipov, for winning his first MVP at the age of 17.
