As the last CS:GO esports Major before the release of Counter-Strike 2, BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023 didn’t disappoint. We saw upset after upset occur across all three stages of the competition, leaving fans in the Accor Arena breathless. Here’s what went down.

BLAST Paris Major 2023 finals

In the Champions stage, which ran from 18 to 21 May 2023, Team Vitality, with the “Chosen One,” aka Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut, being on form, demolished their opponents.

Vitality took out Into the Breach with a 2-0 that could have been a bit cleaner, followed by another 2-0 against Apeks to make it to the grand final of the BLAST Paris Major 2023.

On the other side of the bracket, underdogs GamerLegion smacked Monte out of the event with a 2-0, and they proceeded to take down one of the tournament favourites, Danish powerhouse Heroic, with a 2-1 reverse sweep, setting up a fairytale grand final.

In the grand final of BLAST Paris Major 2023, Team Vitality looked unstoppable, with a 16-6 win on Overpass, followed by a 16-13 win on Nuke to finish off the last CS:GO Major ever, in front of their home crowd.

With the win, Team Vitality claims the trophy, $500,000 in prize money, and spots at both the IEM Cologne 2023 and BLAST Premier World Final events, while ZywOo finally claims a Major MVP medal.
